Welcome to the 59th Annual Meeting of the Austrian Society for Trauma Surgery (ÖGU) and the 4th Annual Meeting of the Austrian Society for Orthopaedics and Traumatology (ÖGOuT) in Salzburg.
This year, our focus is on addressing complex issues within the fields of traumatology and orthopaedics. With the recent merger of the disciplines, we have aimed to emphasise the unique aspects of both specializations while reducing the overlap between trauma surgery and orthopaedics. The result is a programme that delves into special trauma surgery and orthopaedic issues, highlighting "the new diversity" that has emerged after the integration of these disciplines.
In the 2023 submissions, we will concentrate on the critical topics of reconstructing and restoring the function of the human locomotor and supporting apparatus in various scenarios, including injuries, malhealing, malformations, developmental disorders, and neoplasms. We believe that by focusing on these subjects, we can foster a deeper understanding of the challenges and advancements in the field, ultimately improving patient care and outcomes.
We eagerly anticipate your participation in this enriching event, where leading experts and practitioners will share their insights and experiences. The exchange of knowledge and ideas is instrumental in advancing the frontiers of traumatology and orthopaedics, and we are confident that this conference will be a platform for fruitful discussions and collaborations.
