About the Research Course

Spanning May to July 2026, the EUROSPINE Research Course combines e-learning, interactive online sessions, and a focused in-person workshop in Strasbourg.

The programme is designed to strengthen participants’ understanding of clinical research methodology and to guide the structured development of a feasible, high-quality research protocol.

With a maximum of 24 participants, the course ensures close faculty supervision and meaningful peer exchange throughout all stages of protocol development.

  • Conceptual foundations of clinical research
  • Randomised controlled trials and alternative study designs
  • Study implementation, data management, and analysis
  • Principles of qualitative research
  • Communication and dissemination of research

Format and Schedule

The course is delivered in four parts:

  1. Part 1 – E-learning (Spring 2026)
    Self-paced learning via the EUROSPINE Learning Management System, including modules on research protocols, methodological concepts, and study design. Assessment via MCQs and CME evaluation.
  2. Part 2 – Introduction Online Session (June 2026)
    Interactive session to meet faculty and peers and initiate development of research questions.
  3. Part 3 – In-Person Live Session (23–24 June 2026, IRCAD, Strasbourg)
    Two-day workshop including lectures, structured group work, and supervised protocol development. Physical attendance required.
  4. Part 4 – Final Online Evaluation (July 2026)
    Presentation and discussion of developed research protocols with faculty feedback.
