After many years of inactivity of the Spondyloarthrosurgical Society, we agreed at the Slovak Spine Days in January 2015 that we would try to revitalise the professional society, but within the Slovak Medical Society. 
Following a request from the members of the preparatory committee, the Presidium of the Slovak Medical Society at its meeting on 19 January 2016 approved the formation of the Slovak Spondylo-Surgical Society, as an organisational component of the SLS.
