Welcome to the EUROSPINE-JSSR Travelling Fellowship Programme

This EUROSPINE-JSSR Travelling Fellowship Programme 2026 opportunity offers a unique and invaluable benefit for EUROSPINE members, making it an exceptional milestone in their professional journey. This annual fellowship, a collaboration between the Japanese Society for Spine Surgery and Related Research (JSSR) and EUROSPINE, supports spine surgeons' continuing education and training through a structured experience at premier spine centres in Europe and Japan.

About the Programme

The fellowship programme awards two EUROSPINE members and two JSSR members the opportunity to:

  • Observe cutting-edge spine surgery techniques.
  • Engage in focused discussions with leading experts.
  • Gain hands-on exposure to innovative approaches.

Each fellowship grant is valued at €10,000 per fellow, includes complimentary registration to the JSSR meeting and fellows will visit 2–3 spine centres in the host region.

In April 2026, two EUROSPINE fellows will travel to Japan for 2–3 weeks, starting with attendance at the JSSR Annual Meeting in Fukuoka from 16–18 April 2026 and concluding their stay by visiting two to three leading spine centres.

The goals of the programme are:

  • Equip emerging spine surgeons with advanced skills and knowledge.
  • Foster collaboration between EUROSPINE, JSSR, and renowned European and Japanese spine centres.
  • Enhance global knowledge-sharing and support innovation in spine care.
