EUROSPINE Advanced Course


After having completed the EUROSPINE Basic Diploma, take a step further and join the Advanced Course.

You will get the opportunity to hear from renowned surgeons, notions and future trends in state of the art spine surgery. The EUROSPINE Advanced Course consists of 2 Modules focusing on extended indications and advanced operative techniques (Advanced Module 1) and revisions and complications management (Advanced Module 2).

Take part in interactive sessions with concrete and challenging case discussions.

Course format and design

This is a blended learning course (e-learning lectures and live educational event) composed of 2 modules, interactive sessions - case based discussions, and skills workshops.

The modules include pre-learning and assessments. The number of hours of personal study vary per module.

Requirements for Advanced Module registration

Registrations are open to confirmed spine specialists who have completed the EUROSPINE Basic Diploma or have been practicing for at least 2 years. A proof of eligibility to attend the Advanced Courses will be requested upon registration. Participants need to be able to provide one of the following documents:

  • a copy of the EUROSPINE Diploma -or-
  • a recommendation letter proving practice of more than 2 years -or-
  • a copy of your CV

Registration and Service Fees

All prices indicated are per module and incur a non-refundable service fee of 3% of the total booking amount.

The registration fee covers: cost of the e-learning and live components of the course, coffee breaks and lunch.

Travel and accommodation:
Participants are required to book and pay for their travel and accommodation themselves. This is not included in the registration fee.

Accompanying persons:
There is no programme for accompanying persons.

Please note that, if you already are a EUROSPINE member and wish to take advantage of the EUROSPINE member discount when registering for the course, you must ensure you have settled your membership fees for the current year before starting your course registration. Obtaining the EUROSPINE Advanced Diploma: IMPORTANT CHANGES

***The EUROSPINE Advanced Diploma will be phased out in the coming year/s. Advanced Modules 1 and 2 will still be available and can be completed on their own, but are not tied to a fellowship.

We are currently working on a transition plan that allows individuals who have started their fellowship (or will still be doing a fellowship in the near future) to have an appropriate transition time to complete all requirements to achieve the Advanced Diploma is it currently stands.

Currently the following three requirements have to be met to obtain the Advanced Diploma:

1. Obtain the EUROSPINE Diploma via
2. Complete both Advanced Course Modules (EUROSPINE, EANS as of 2017, Turkish Spine Society or DWG as of 01.01.2018 course modules) AND
3. Complete a 6-months fellowship, formally validated by the EUROSPINE through the separate fellowship validation process

CME Accreditation and Compliance

Accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®) is pending.

Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

Through an agreement between the Union Européenne des Médecins Spécialistes and the American Medical Association, physicians may convert EACCME® credits to an equivalent number of AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Information on the process to convert EACCME® credit to AMA credit can be found at

Live educational activities, occurring outside of Canada, recognised by the UEMS-EACCME® for ECMEC®s are deemed to be Accredited Group Learning Activities (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

Participation in the whole module is mandatory (online and live components) as well as the completion of the course evaluation and assessments in order to receive the CME certificates:

  • CME credits for the e-learning are awarded after completing the e-learning component.
  • CME credits for the live component are awarded separately upon completion of the live component.
  • Module completion is achieved only after the completion of both the e-learning and live component.
