The German Spine Society (DWG) will celebrate its 20th Annual Meeting from 10–12 December 2025.
The congress theme is “Progress through marginal gains and game changers.” As in previous years, the meeting will run from Wednesday to Friday and will follow the established format of a main session without parallel tracks. Clinical highlights will include degenerative cervical myelopathy, spinal infections, and innovative techniques. Each session will begin with a state-of-the-art lecture, followed by abstract-based scientific presentations.
Important professional and policy issues will also be addressed, in particular the impact of the forthcoming hospital restructuring law on spinal surgery. Italy will be the guest country of the meeting, represented by the Società Italiana de Chirurgia Vertebrale e Gruppo Italiano Scoliosi (SICV&GIS), with a joint scientific session and abstract contributions.
The programme will further feature a dedicated Nursing and Therapy Day, organised in collaboration with the Institute for Physical Therapy, Prevention, and Rehabilitation in Mainz.
