The Italian Society of Vertebral Surgery is one of the longest-standing Italian Associations of Orthopaedics.
Affiliated to the mother Society S.I.O.T. (Italian Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology), the Society promotes and encourages the study, research, prevention and treatment of all forms of vertebral pathology, 
and promotes the exchange of ideas and experience on a national and international level.
In order to provide a wide range of specialities, it was felt that the composition of members should guarantee the various disciplines that deal with the spine; in fact, SICV&GIS is composed of orthopaedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists and specialists in physical and rehabilitation medicine.
