The Austrian Spine Society

The Austrian Society for Spine Surgery was founded in Vienna in 1998 by Hans-Paul Kutschera, Martin Buchelt, Werner Lack and Gerhard Wöber with the aim of exchanging the latest knowledge in the field of spine surgery as well as promoting education in the field of spine surgery. The interdisciplinary platform was created specifically for doctors from the fields of orthopaedics, neurology, neurosurgery, radiology, trauma surgery, physiotherapy, osteopathy, all of whom come from both clinical and scientific backgrounds.
All persons working in any of the above fields can become members of the Society. At present, the Society has about 200 members.
