World Spine Day 2017

EUROSPINE's contribution to World Spine Day 2017 is an Advanced Spine Course as part of EUROSPINE's educational programme in Strasbourg, France.
Frank Kandziora from Frankfurt, Germany (EUROSPINE President) and Tim Pigott from Liverpool, UK (EUROSPINE Vice President) introduced 70 participants from 20 countries to the course, part of the EUROSPINE Advanced Diploma. EUROSPINE is the largest international spine society and the umbrella organisation for the majority of National European Spine Societies. World Spine Day is celebrated yearly on 16 October to raise awareness about spinal disorders.

Want to know more about World Spine Day?
As part of Bone and Joint Decade’s Action Week, World Spine Day on 16 October, raises awareness about spinal disorders!

Spinal pain and disability can have a profound effect on a person’s overall health, sometimes preventing them from working or even doing simple daily activities.

Research has demonstrated that poor posture and inactivity are major contributors to the development of back pain and other spinal disorders. According to the World Health Organization, one in four adults is not active enough and over 80% of adolescent population is not active enough.

This year, the World Spine Day (WSD) theme is “Your Back In Action”. We want to highlight the importance of physical activity and improving posture as part of good spinal health and prevention of injury.

Call for Action
Help raise awareness and share an image, reasons, importance, tips, etc. on how to keep #YourBackInAction on Social Media using the respective Tag #YourBackInAction #WSD2017
