Some news from Spine Tango
The meeting aims to bring together the Spine Tango community, promote and discuss registry-based research and some exciting projects, demonstrate the Spine Tango functioning to current and new users and to interested persons, discuss the use of the registry for the industry, discuss current problems and to exchange ideas.
Staub and colleagues received the 2015 annual paper award from The Spine Journal for their article entitled "Total disc arthroplasty versus anterior cervical interbody fusion: use of the Spine Tango registry to supplement the evidence from randomized control trials".
The paper gives a practical example about how medical registries can be used to supplement the evidence provided from randomised controlled trials. Both the real-life and long-term perspectives are essential when judging the effectiveness of therapies.
