EUROSPINE Advanced Diploma Course

The COVID-19 pandemic is not yet behind us, despite huge global efforts towards vaccination.

With the best interest of all stakeholders in mind and to guarantee the safety of the participants, faculty, staff and everyone involved in delivering the EduWeek, the EduWeek 2021 will be held fully virtual on 28 to 30 June 2021.


After having completed the EUROSPINE Diploma courses, take a step further towards optaining the EUROSPINE Advanced Diploma by attending the advanced courses.

You will get the opportunity to hear from renowned surgeons surgical pearls, notions and future trends in state of the art spine surgery. The advanced course consists of 2 Modules focusing on extended indications and advanced operative techniques (Advanced Module 1) and revisions and complications management (Advanced Module 2).

Take part in interactive sessions with concrete and challenging case discussions. This is a very unique opportunity!

Course format and design

This is a blended learning course (eLearning lectures and live virtual educational event) composed of 2 modules, interactive sessions - case based discussions, and skills workshops.

The modules include pre-learning and assessments. The number of hours of personal study vary per module.

Accessibility of eLearning modules: 1 April 2021

Only participants who have paid the registration will be given access to the online component. Participants can take these modules at their own pace, but are advised to complete their eLearning modules prior to the live virtual components.

Course Registration

Each module is delivered twice during the 2021 EduWeek (same content and faculty) to allow for more participation options.

Participants must only register for ONE of the module' option, at their preferred time/dates.

Due to the limited seats available, changing option once registered is not possible.

Registration Fees

Advanced Modules 1–2: €800 for Members, €1,000 for Non-members

All prices indicated are per module.

Please note the following important information:
  • The registration fee covers the cost of the eLearning and live virtual components of the course.
  • Each module is delivered twice during the 2021 EduWeek. Participants must only register for ONE of the module' session, at their preferred time/dates.

Members' Discount

Please note that, if you already are a EUROSPINE member and wish to take advantage of the EUROSPINE member discount when registering for the course, you must ensure you have settled your 2021 membership fee before starting your course registration. Please note that we cannot reimburse the difference between the non-member and member's registration fee if a member registers at the non-member's rate.

Before registering for an Advanced Course

Prepare pdf file of any one of the following documents:
  • a copy of the EUROSPINE Diploma -or-
  • a recommendation letter proving practice of more than 2 years -or-
  • a copy of your CV

Registrations are open to confirmed spine specialists who have completed the EUROSPINE Diploma or are already practicing for at least 2 years. A proof of eligibility to attend the Advanced Courses will be requested upon registration (a copy of the EUROSPINE Diploma, or a recommendation letter proving practice of more than 2 years, or a copy of your CV).

Obtaining the EUROSPINE Advanced Diploma: IMPORTANT NOTE!

Please be aware that the requirements for obtaining the Advanced Diploma are as follows:

1. Obtain the EUROSPINE Diploma via
2. Complete both advanced course modules either with EUROSPINE or via the EUROSPINE Diploma Equivalence Programme with EANS or Turkish Spine Society)
3. Complete a 6-months fellowship, formally validated by the EUROSPINE through the separate fellowship validation process

All three requirements must be fulfilled.

CME Accreditation and Compliance

EUROSPINE EduWeek has been accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®). Please check each individual programmes for the number of awarded ECMEC®s.

Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

Through an agreement between the Union Européenne des Médecins Spécialistes and the American Medical Association, physicians may convert EACCME® credits to an equivalent number of AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Information on the process to convert EACCME® credit to AMA credit can be found at

Live educational activities, occurring outside of Canada, recognised by the UEMS-EACCME® for ECMEC®s are deemed to be Accredited Group Learning Activities (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

Participation in the whole module is mandatory (online and live virtual components) as well as the completion of the course evaluation and assessments in order to receive the CME certificates:

  • CME credits for the eLearning are awarded after completing the eLearning component.
  • CME credits for the live component are awarded separately upon completion of the live (virtual) component.
  • Module completion is achieved only after the completion of both the eLearning and live (virtual) component.
