Basic Biomechanics and Biomechanical Methods for Experimental Research of the Musculoskeletal System

The aim of this workshop is to train clinicians and unexperienced biomedical engineers in basic principles of biomechanics. Participants who already had classes in basic mechanics can start the workshop on the second day. It will allow the students to gain knowledge in planning and conducting biomechanical experiments by a balanced mixture of 7 lectures and 12 laboratories. The number of participants is limited to 20 in order to guarantee a maximum efficiency for the single student.

EUROSPINE travel grants for attending the biomechanics course 2018

4 “Travel Grants for Attending the Biomechanics Course 2018 in Ulm, Germany” of € 2,000 each are available from EUROSPINE upon application.

The €2,000 stipends are intended to cover the registration fees (participants will be required to register as any participant), travel and accommodation costs to attend the course.

Who is eligible to apply for the travel grant and how to apply?

  • Applicants must be members or applicant members of EUROSPINE
  • Applicants must be under 40 years of age.

Application supporting documents
  • Applicants must provide their current CV in English
  • Applicants must provide a copy of their Passport/ID showing their birthdate
  • A letter stating their clinical/research specialty and how the course would contribute to their career must be provided by the applicants.
  • If the applicant is a current graduate or post graduate student/resident, a letter from the supervisor or director of training is requested, confirming that the applicant will be allowed to attend the course.
  • A reference letter form current supervisor

Application and selection process

  • The EUROSPINE Task Force Research (TFR) Committee will allocate the travel grants based on application. Stipends will be given to the best applications.
  • The application deadline is 30 April 2018.
  • Applications must be made through the below application form. Email applications will not be accepted.
  • Decision of who will be funded will be taken on 5 May 2018. Decision cannot be contested and is final.
  • Applicants will be advised of the decision by the end of May 2018 if they have been selected to receive the travel fellowship or not.
