Basic Course

Overview

This course is composed of 5 modules providing young surgeons with a reference based, standardised curriculum in degenerative challenges, spinal deformities, trauma, tumours & inflammatory disease which will support them in their clinical practice. Through lectures participants will have learning outcomes based on science that can be used in critical decision making.

2019 Schedule

Course format and design

This is a live educational event composed of 5 modules where there will be blended learning of lectures, interactive sessions - case based discussions, plenary sessions and cadaver lab workshops.

Not all 5 modules can be taken at once. A maximum of 3 modules can be attended during one Education Week as modules overlap. There is no particular order in which to take the modules. It is however recommended, whenever possible, to take Basic Module 1 in the first year.

Preliminary Programmes

The below 2019 preliminary programmes are subject to changes.

Registration

2019 Fees:
Basic Module 1: €300 for Members, €400 for Non-members
Basic Modules 2–5: €800 for Members, €1,000 for Non-members

All prices indicated are per module.
Register for 2 modules and you get 10% discount off the registration fees.
Register for 3 modules and you get 15% discount off the registration fees.

Swiss VAT of 7.7% will be added to the total amount invoiced.

The registration fee covers:
  • cost of the course
  • coffee breaks and lunch
  • access to the CadLab and disposables (e.g. gloves, masks, scrubs, etc.) for modules with practical sessions

Travel and accommodation:
Participants are required to book and pay for their travel and accommodation themselves. This is not included in the registration fee.

Accompanying persons:
There are no accompanying persons fees nor accompanying persons programme during this course.

Networking events:
The networking event is not part of the scientific programme. Participants are required to register at own expense.

Members' Discount

Please note that, if you already are a EUROSPINE member and wish to take advantage of the EUROSPINE member discount when registering for the course, you must ensure you have settled your 2019 membership fee before starting your course registration. Please note that we cannot reimburse the difference between the non-member and member's registration fee if a member registers at the non-member's rate.

CME Accreditation and Compliance

EUROSPINE will apply to the EACCME (European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education) for CME accreditation of all modules.

Participation in the whole module is mandatory as well as the completion of the course assessment in order to receive the CME certificate.

EUROSPINE will also apply for accreditation by EthicalMedTech.
