EUROSPINE Advanced Diploma Course

2020 EUROSPINE Advanced Diploma Courses (29 June-3 July 2020) POSTPONED until January 2021

It is with regret that we have decided to postpone the EUROSPINE Education Week (EduWeek). This decision has been taken by the EUROSPINE Presidential Line in light of the evolving and unprecedented uncertainty of the COVID-19 global situation.

It is important that we all play our part in minimising travel and exposure to this virus and ensure that healthcare professionals are available to care for patients. EUROSPINE fully supports our healthcare professionals in their unwavering efforts to fight the pandemic.

EduWeek, originally scheduled to take place from 29 June to 3 July 2020, has been provisionally POSTPONED until 11-15 January 2021.

Overview

After having completed the Basic Course (5 Modules), go one step further towards the Advanced Diploma offered by EUROSPINE. You will get the opportunity to hear from renowned surgeons surgical pearls, notions and future trends in state of the art spine surgery. The Advanced Course consists of 2 Modules focusing on extended indications and advanced operative techniques on the one and revisions and complications management on the other hand.

Take part in interactive sessions with concrete and challenging case discussions
Get hands-on skills training with the latest technologies in the cadaver lab workshop, simulator lab and dry lab. This is a very unique opportunity!

Course format and design

This is a live educational event where there will be blended learning of lectures, interactive sessions - case based discussions, plenary sessions, cadaver lab workshops and simulator lab.

Registration Fees

Advanced Modules 1–2: €800 for Members, €1,000 for Non-members

All prices indicated are per module.

The registration fee covers:
  • cost of the course
  • coffee breaks and lunch
  • access to the CadLab and disposables (e.g. gloves, masks, scrubs, etc.) for modules with practical sessions

Travel and accommodation:
Participants are required to book and pay for their travel and accommodation themselves. This is not included in the registration fee.

Accompanying persons:
There are no accompanying persons fees nor accompanying persons programme during this course.

Networking events:
The networking event is not part of the scientific programme. Participants are required to register at own expense.

Members' Discount

Please note that, if you already are a EUROSPINE member and wish to take advantage of the EUROSPINE member discount when registering for the course, you must ensure you have settled your 2020 membership fee before starting your course registration. Please note that we cannot reimburse the difference between the non-member and member's registration fee if a member registers at the non-member's rate.

Before registering to an Advanced Course

Prepare pdf file of any one of the following documents:
  • a copy of the EUROSPINE Diploma -or-
  • a recommendation letter proving practice of more than 2 years -or-
  • a copy of your CV

Registrations are open to confirmed spine specialists who have completed the EUROSPINE Diploma or are already practicing for at least 2 years. A proof of eligibility to attend the Advanced Courses will be requested upon registration (a copy of the EUROSPINE Diploma, or a recommendation letter proving practice of more than 2 years, or a copy of your CV).

CME Accreditation and Compliance

EUROSPINE will apply to the EACCME (European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education) and EthicalMedtech for accreditation of all modules.

Participation in the whole module is mandatory as well as the completion of the course assessment in order to receive the CME certificate.

Obtaining the Advanced Diploma: IMPORTANT NOTE!

Please be aware that the requirements for obtaining the Advanced Diploma are as follows:

1. Obtain the EUROSPINE Diploma via
2. Complete both advanced course modules either with EUROSPINE or via the EUROSPINE Diploma Equivalence Programme with EANS as of 2017 or Turkish Spine Society)
3. Complete a 6-months fellowship, formally validated by the EUROSPINE through the separate fellowship validation process

All three requirements must be fulfilled.
