Abstract submission EuroSpine 2010

Submission deadline: March 15, 2010

Submission guidelines and review process:

  • Abstracts chosen for presentation are selected at the discretion of the Program Committee to ensure a fair and balanced program.
  • Abstracts will be read in a blind fashion with no reference to authors or institutions to ensure fairness.
  • An abstract may only be submitted once.
  • All abstracts must be submitted in English.
  • If an abstract is not accepted for presentation as a paper, it is possible it may be accepted instead as a poster. The final determination on format is at the discretion of the Program Committee. The presenting author must be prepared to attend the meeting to display their poster or send someone in their place.
  • No abstract will be considered with deferred outcome data. If data is to be presented, it must appear in the original abstract.
  • Case reports and technical notes should be submitted as poster presentations (as these are generally not considered for paper presentation).
  • Presenters may not use their abstract to market products or services.
  • References to trade name or specific company product lines is prohibited in abstracts and presentations.
  • All accepted abstracts will be published in a supplementum of the European Spine Journal.
  • Editing of abstracts after the submission deadline is not possible anymore.
  • The text of the abstract should have a total character count of no more than 2800 (each letter, space and punctuation mark counts as a character).
  • Potential conflict of interest, fundings, royalties or similar must be specified at the end ot the abstract text (compare item 7 of the Copyright/Disclosure Licence Agreement).

EuroSpine Full Paper Award 10.000 EUR

The award will be chosen out of the seven best abstract submissions for the 2010 EuroSpine meeting.
The winning authors will be informed after the Meeting of the Program Committee end of May: they will be invited to submit a full paper manuscript until August 15. Besides of receiving the award, the winning paper goes into the first issue of the following year's European Spine Journal.

The abstract text must include the following

• Background context
• Purpose - State the purpose of the study
• Study Design/Setting
• Patient Sample, Inclusion Period and Follow-up.
• Outcome Measures (must be included in clinical studies).
• Methods – Describe the methods used to seek the answer.
• Results – Summarize the findings.
• Discussion or conclusion – Define the overall significance of the findings.
