EUROSPINE FOUNDATION
Eurospine Foundation

an Organisation of EUROSPINE -The Spine Society of Europe

The EUROSPINE FOUNDATION has been created by the end of 2007 by Eurospine -The Spine Society of Europe - together with its official peer-reviewed journal, the European Spine Journal (ESJ) with legal seat in Switzerland and under the supervision of the Swiss governmental authorities.

The purpose of the foundation is to create a platform for the stakeholders in the spinal community (physician, patient, industry, insurance and governmental authorities).

The goal of the EuroSpine Foundation is to empower EuroSpine, the Spine Society of Europe (SSE) to achieve its goals. While the mission of the SSE is purely scientific, the role of the Foundation is to interact with all stakeholders to raise the necessary financial resources to implement the practical solutions as recommended by the SSE, in particular in the areas of education, research and quality assessment.

The foundation is therefore a tool to give the Eurospine -The Spine Society of Europe - the resources, infrastructure and the professional management background to perform and build competitive, yet independent educational and clinical research programmes concerning mainly outcome research and to help to build an European Spine Research Network (ESRN) inviting the best researchers to participate alongside with clinicians and spine specialists in practice. To undertake clinical outcome research, Eurospine and the Foundation own an unique tool: The Spine Tango - an European Spine Registry.

Furthermore, the foundation shall create values and services for the members of the Eurospine - The Spine Society of Europe - and their patients.
