A 50 % position supported by the Norwegian Research Council is available from September 15th 2007 to January 1st 2011 on the project ” Does fusion lead to increased adjacent level disc degeneration in patients with chronic low back pain. An international collaborative project.”
Our aim is to examine the influence of spinal fusion on disc degeneration, by comparing the incidence of adjacent level disc degeneration in groups of patients randomly assigned to operative and non-operative treatment of chronic low back pain, pooled from four recent European randomised clinical trials.

In addition, a 100 % doctoral position for 3 (4) years is available in Norway.

Salary (50% position): 284 000 Norwegian kroner (36.500 Euros)
